I have known the Ward family for YEARS, and we chose a BAD day to do their photo session, in fact it was a blizzard, we still did the session and decided to meet another time and do a whole new photo session! The morale of the story: You can't do a photo session on a snowy, rainy or dark day! You just have to re-schedule....I love how their photos turned out!

I haven't had the time to POST anything! I feel so bad but I have been scramming and working 12 hours a day to get everyone's pictures done in time to print for Christmas! I am hoping to get it all done soon! I have a long list though!

Anyway, this is Jason and Katie, they got married yesterday, and their wedding was gorgeous! You can see the LOVE that they have for each other! We did groomals before their wedding so they saw each other in their wedding attire beforehand, and the feelings were a little different, this time it was REAL that they would be together for ETERNITY! Congratulations to the both of you, I sure had so much fun basking in your happiness and tagging along with your journey to get married! We, together...got amazing photos!

Mellor Family

I don't think it was coincidence how I met the Mellor Family...in fact they were a totally blessing to my family and I! Here is the story: Back in May of this year, we lost our Sweet Ramseys the Great Dane on Mother's day...it was horrible, he went painfully at only 3 years of age and we were devastated. I didn't want our family to go through that again, so in our minds we were done with dogs for awhile....but I found myself on KSL.com a few months later, looking for Great Danes. I looked and looked but I had no luck finding a fawn Great Dane puppy....then I believe I was inspired. I got the idea in my head to look at the Great Dane Studs on KSL, and I find the most gorgeous dane by the name of Max! I decided to write to the owners of Max to see if he had studded any litters yet....I got an email back and YES there were going to be two that were due in July and August and that they get the pick of the litter. I was excited to hear they got the pick of the litter because our Ramseys was actually the RUNT of the litter. Anway, I decided to ask them if they were going to sell the pick of the litter and that's how we got our new addition to the family: Brutus Maximus...we are in love with him!

The Mellor Family is amazing, they are very friendly and accept new friendships right away. They were so fun to hang out with and their son had only been home from his mission for a few weeks! This is my friend's adorable and handsome baby boy! Rowan was 6 weeks and 4 days old when we took his photos, I usually do newborn shots in the first 10 days of their lives, but Rowan did great for being a little bit older! We took his pictures on September 27th!!! I love it when babies decide to be absolutely PERFECT for their pictures, and Rowan did just that! I love his name too!

Here is another WEDDING I didn't post yet, this was an awesome story...this Wedding was a referral from a referral, I think...I don't know how exactly they found me, but this couple is from GEORGIA, and they came to SLC to get married in a CASTLE (The SLC Temple of course!), they brought just a few family members. BUT their photographer's flight was cancelled or something so she couldn't get to SLC to take their pictures. SO I SAVED the day, I was lucky enough to find a sitter for my kids and that I didn't have any plans that night. It was so fun to meet them and to take their pictures!

I have BIG news for Butterfly Love Photography, I can't believe how BIG this business has turned into! It started with my close friends who saw my pictures that I took of my kids, and then I started taking my friend's kid's pictures, and then friends of their friends started calling me, and what was just a fun little hobby became Butterfly Love Photography!

I have been so blessed with photography in my life, the business, the people, and YOU have made me who I am today! I will be truly grateful for the experience and friendships I have made!

Anyone who has tried to perfect their skills, their business, themselves will know it is consuming-all of the time. Photography- it is a job that is never finished. It's not an 8-5 job, the work comes home with you. You dream it, you think of it 24/7. The hours for family sessions can be as long as 12 hours or more for just one family. I tried to limit the amount of sessions I take each month so I can be there for my family. That didn't change it much. The time, the energy, the skill and devotion, it became hard work.

Sadly, my personal life has been put on the "back burner", my house is so sad now, and if that's the case, where does that put my family? I have been thinking about this long and hard....This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make! My poor family needs me, my kids will only be this AGE once...and I have a son who is struggling and needs more mommy. I need to be there for my kids, my husband, my friends, service, my God, my poor house, and ME!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what I do, I enjoy being with all kinds of people, but for now it makes sense to give my all to my family.

I have to thank my husband for having so much FAITH in me while pursuing this business, he has been my ROCK! His words of encouragement have especially helped when I didn't feel so amazing in photography. He is amazing for his continual support in my decisions. I want to give a BIG THANKS to my clients! I loved getting to know you, and the friendships I have made have been amazing! I truly hope that you will continually be in my life as my friends! You have made me who I am today, your compliments, your faith in me- kept me going!

I will never put a CAMERA down, it will ALWAYS be connected to my hip! I will continue to perfect my skill, but it will be of my family. I don't know how long I will be gone, I don't even know if I am coming back. BUT please come back here to see what I have been up to...

I am booked up the rest of the year, and I will keep posting pictures. Of course, I will finish out my schedule for this Fall/Winter season of 2011, all who have made appointments with me I look forward to seeing YOU!
